More Charter Trains

Service alterations due to.... Birds in the signalbox
posted 01/06/11
If anyone wonders why we have recently been running trains from the Level Crossing rather than the station, it is because a disused signalling control cabinet on the Station was chosen as a nest building location by a couple of Blue Tits. The first we knew of it was one Sunday when we heard the babies shouting out for food! We decided to move our ticket office to the level crossing gates and give the birds some space.

Mum and Dad were often seen flitting back and forth during the day, seemingly not bothered too much by the trains! All birds have now left the nest and the station can be used as normal!

Charter Trains!

KLDSME has this year run two special afternoons of train rides for children's support groups, free of charge.

Lynnsport group The Little Discoverer's, for children with motor learning difficulties, had an afternoon of train rides in late May.

The Kandoo Club, which organises sporting activities for youngsters with disabilities, had an afternoon in mid August. The children thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon, with plenty of smiling faces to be seen, and some enthusiastic screaming in the tunnel!

We hope both Clubs enjoyed their visit, we hope for repeat visits next year!

Charity Donations 2011
This year's charity is the East Anglian Air Ambulance, with 10% ticket revenue being donated and there is also a collection box at the Ticket Kiosk for those spare coins clogging up your pockets! Give generously to this worthy cause.

Special Offer for Railway Regulars
Great news if you're a regular visitor to the Railway on a Sunday, simply keep your tickets and when you have 10, show them at the gate and get a free ride!
